Installation Methods: Method 1: Paste the dome shaped stickers on the edge of the LCD screen. 2 on each side and 1 on the bottom. Slide the privacy filter between the plastic holders and the LCD screen. Method 2: Paste the triangular stickers new the corners of the privacy filter. Remove the protective paper from the stickers. This was slightly cheaper than the leading brands (3M, etc) but does not act as an effective privacy guard - angle required to provide privacy is too large, especially if you were planning to use it on a plane, etc.

These are indistinguishable in performance from the leading brand at a fraction of the price. Very happy with the purchase, having used it for nearly a year now. Probably 0.5mm too wide for my Latitude D600, but I force-slipped it under the panel surrounding my laptop screen rather than cut it to size.
Not too much help for people sitting right next to you or standing behind you, but works great for conference rooms. Works for in-flight privacy if brightness is turned way down (which is usually the case for me anyway in order to conserve battery life) or if you're in business class and therefore not shoulder-to-shoulder with anyone (people behind you on the immediate left/right can still see your screen if you have brightness turned up).

The fasteners really don't do a good job of holding down the screen. The screen itself is slightly, just barely but slightly too big for my IBM T61 laptop, meaning that instead of sitting inside the screen frame and looking flush, it's got to be outside of it and therefore doesn't quite look good or stay on well either. It falls off. Just a bit better sizing would've made it perfect, but I've stopped using mine.

Just received this screen and when I look at, there are a series of diagonal lines going across the entire screen. I have a Lenovo T61 and while it covers the screen nicely, I'm getting headache looking thru it. The tabs used to hold the screen in place are very cheap and fall off. Indeed, the instructions suggest buying 3M tabs to hold the screen. Bottom line, this is going to be returned and I will have to pay the extra for the 3M.

Like other reviewers, I don't have experience with other versions of privacy filters, but this one - for the price alone - can't be beat! I do quite a bit of business travel, which equates to lots of work done in airports, and could't get by without this. Perfect fit, easy to install, and no worries about peering eyes. Don't let the low price fool you -- this really works!
