Editorial Reviews:

Product Description
Linksys' Ultra RangePlus Wireless-N Broadband Router is actually three devices in one box. First, there's the Wireless Access Point, which lets you connect to the network without wires. There's also a built-in 4-port full-duplex 10/100 Switch to connect your wired-Ethernet devices together. Finally, the Router function ties it all together and lets your whole network share a high-speed cable or DSL Internet connection.

1 out of 5 stars Not Good, Bad   September 3, 2010
M. Hauser (Grove, Oklahoma)
I have purchased two of these things. The first one worked perfectly for about two months and then it stopped working completely. The second one worked sporadically from day one. I bought this for my grandparents hoping to give them the wondrous capability to surf the web from where ever they were in their house. Unfortunately all they got was a bunch of tech visits from me. It never worked longer than forty eight hours. Eventually I just got sick of trying to get it working and I returned it with no hassle. I like Lynksys, but this product is just not worth it. You get what you pay for, I payed for cheap, I got cheap. If I were you, I'd probably go with one of their newer more reliable models.

4 out of 5 stars Works great!!! Thanks to DD-WRT!!!   September 2, 2010

Immediately after getting this router today I installed DD-WRT without even testing the default firmware. This works great and router is cheap also. I did not need an $80+ router for my needs.

Thanks for the other reviewers for their reviews on this router which helped me decide quickly.

1 out of 5 stars this is junk   September 1, 2010

This is the most unreliable piece of electonics I have ever purchased. First off it keeps locking you out of the website by changing login procedures or passwords. Originally I had to use customer support telephone to get it to work. That lasted about a month. Now it disconnects my cabled computer and broadcasts nothing for the wireless to pickup.
It is the most complicated setup I have ever encountered.
Obviously this company has zero quality control and lack of credibility in "ease of setup" wording.
This item has a negative value as it fouls up the computer it should not even be interacting with.

5 out of 5 stars Worthy Inexpensive Upgrade   September 1, 2010
Erwin Alva (Sacramento, CA)
I will echo the feedback of other reviewers here: This router is junk until you update the firmware to DD-WRT. Once that's done, you'll wonder why you have to spend over a hundred dollars for a decent router.

The bad news is it seems getting an upgradeable version (Broadcom chipset on 1.0 or 3.0) is a roll of the dice. Also, if you don't feel comfortable enough with networking hardware (you'll hear "30/30/30 reset" a lot), I suggest going the easier route (buy a different router).

I used this link to do my upgrade:

If you get Version 2.0, you're out of luck and stuck with a 30-dollar junk.

5 out of 5 stars Great item, fantastic seller! Only didn't mention the scuff mark on it, but no biggy!   August 30, 2010

Great item thank you! Works fast, efficiently and calling linksys to help me set it up was a breeze. It gets great range and works well!
