Acer Touchscreen June 27, 2010 epguru Overall very easy to set up and use . The instructions provided in box were very limited though. Only unhappiness is the price dropped a few days after I bought it.
Pretty good, but big fingers make it tough June 12, 2010 N. Foss (Hillsborough, NJ United States) Well, the first one sent was a disaster. It was missing all of the buttons on the front panel, including the one necessary to turn it on. Amazon quite quickly replaced it.
The monitor does what is advertised. It is a touchscreen and with windows 7 and vista it works flawlessly on all programs. It also seems to work with most programs in Windows XP. It has a built in on screen keyboard if you wish to use it to fill in forms, and it notices if you are in a form and unobtrusively provides a pop up box on the side if you want to use it. I have it attached to a USB KVM switcher that switches between 4 computers and it works between the various computers and switches without any problems
Response it very good, never had an issue, except with my fat fingers. Works better with a pencil (eraser end). No matter how much I "calibrate" it to my fingers, it always seems to select an area up and to the right of my finger. You actually can calibrate yourself to compensate. However, this is cured with the eraser.
XP can and does work May 27, 2010 J. Welty 6 out of 6 found this review helpful
Well I almost sent the monitor back thinking it was for Windows 7 only. After much internet digging I found a forum that gave the answer.
Acer T230H XP Drivers can be found on HP's site. Here's how:
With usb view utility I checked the VID=0x0408 and PID=0x3000. Looking up these ID's tells me it's a TACTION Touch screen by Quanta Computer. It appears the HP L2105tm monitor has the same touchscreen and HP does provide support for this model for Win XP and even for Win 2k. Go to HP and get the drivers for the L2105tm monitor. Those work for the Acer as well.
So Far So Good May 27, 2010 H. Holland (Clarkston, Georgia USA) I thought I'd try this because of hand, finger and arm problems because of too much mouse and Tivo remote use. I don't care for reflective screens but don't have a problem with this because of the location where I use it [no lights or windows behind me]. Calibrating the touch took several tries and it's still not as accurate as I'd like near screen edges but it's good enough and it looks great. Although I don't like paying this much for a monitor, I think the touch factor will be a help to me. Most likely a keeper.
New Technology March 28, 2010 Eduardo Carmona (CT USA) Well. 1st I have to say for all who want a touch screen monitor for their own computers this is awsome. I have an HP Touchsmart and to start the CPU they put on those computers are crap. You never get to enjoy the multitouch apps without having some lag. I put this onto my own desktop which I upgraded through out the years. The touch itself is straight forward and no lag. It actually works better than the HP touchsmart I have. Sometimes I think why I bought the HP touchsmart at the first place when I can just build a better computer and buy the ACER touch screen. I have no problems yet and I do recommend it.
